daily dose of inspiration

February 17, 2016

prescribed by Emily O'Brien

“There’s some weird false idea that when you’re working towards being confident or happy or loving yourself you won’t have bad days. You will, and they will be horrible. You will feel like shit and nothing will go right. Those days don’t take away from all your progress or set the tone for your entire journey. Experience those days. It’s okay. Your journey is still valid.”

When everything feels like it is falling apart or the people you counted on have let you down, just remember that what you are feeling is completely normal. Your life is "not over," it is just simply happening. College, SATs, drivers tests, exams, boys, psychotic teachers, bitchy friends... the list seems infinite. Just know that you got this and if everything else fails, I still believe in you.
Here is some inspo for those days that seem like they will never end (in the worst way possible)

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. ”
— Abraham Lincoln

“So please ask yourself: What would I do if I weren’t afraid? And then go do it. ”
— Sheryl Sandberg

Last but not least, remember to do something special for yourself everyday. It's not selfish! This will simply keep you sane. You can do small things like buy yourself a coffee or talk to the boy that sits behind you in class. It won't only make your day a wee bit better, but it will also make you happy.

xoxo,
